Tempo Traveller on Rent in Ahmedabad for a Diwali Family Trip
Diwali is when the whole family finally ends up in one city. Parents, siblings, cousins, kids and a few uncles who never miss a trip. Then someone says "let's go somewhere for two days" and the real problem shows up. Nobody wants a convoy of five cars.
A Tempo Traveller on rent in Ahmedabad solves that. One vehicle, one driver, one plan. The question is which size and which type. This guide compares the options and shows how a group trip comes together.
Tempo Traveller on rent in Ahmedabad: what you can hire
Here are the group vehicles we offer and what each one suits.
| Vehicle | Seats | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Tempo Traveller | 11 | Joint families |
| Tempo Traveller | 13 or 17 | Bigger families, long pilgrimage drives |
| Force Urbania | 13 or 17 | Wedding parties, corporate outings |
| Mini bus | 29 | Very large groups |
Toll and border taxes are extra. Every vehicle is fully air conditioned.
Tempo Traveller or Urbania
The Tempo Traveller is the workhorse for a Tempo Traveller family trip. It has plenty of luggage space, and the Maharaja version has pushback seats that make a big difference on long drives such as Somnath, Dwarka or Udaipur. If your group includes grandparents, choose this one.
The Urbania suits groups that want a newer feel and a bit more legroom. It is a good fit for a wedding party, a corporate outing or a big family that wants to arrive looking fresh.
For most Diwali trips, seat count decides it. Pick the smallest vehicle where everyone sits comfortably with their bags, and keep two seats free.
Which size for your group?
| Group size | Vehicle to ask for |
|---|---|
| 7 to 9 people | An Innova or two cars |
| 10 to 11 people | 11 seater Tempo Traveller |
| 12 to 13 people | 13 seater Tempo Traveller or Urbania |
| 14 to 17 people | 17 seater Tempo Traveller or Urbania |
| 18 to 29 people | 29 seater mini bus |
An 11 seater Tempo Traveller on rent in Ahmedabad is the most common choice for joint families, since it is the smallest of our group vehicles. A 17 seater Tempo Traveller on rent in Ahmedabad makes sense once the group crosses 13 and you still want everyone to travel with their bags.
The seat count is the maximum. Plan a full bag per passenger for a multi day trip, and you will see why leaving a couple of seats free is worth it.

A sample two day Udaipur plan for 15 people
To see how it works in practice, here is a simple plan for a joint family of 15 in a 17 seater Tempo Traveller on rent in Ahmedabad.
Day one: Leave Ahmedabad at 6 am, stop for breakfast on the highway and reach Udaipur by lunch. Spend the afternoon at the City Palace and the evening at Lake Pichola.
Day two: Visit Saheliyon ki Bari and Fateh Sagar in the morning, then start the drive back after lunch.
The trip covers about 520 km over two days, with the same driver and vehicle throughout. Toll and border tax are extra.
Two cars or one vehicle?
If you are 10 or 11 people with light bags, two Ertigas are also worth considering.
One vehicle wins when the group is 12 or more, when you have luggage for several days, or when you want everyone in one place. Nobody gets lost behind a truck. Nobody waits at a toll gate for the second car. The family talks, sings and argues in the same cabin, which is half the fun of a Diwali trip.
Ask us for both quotes and compare.
What to ask before you book
A few questions save you from surprises on the day.
- How many days will I be charged for, and is there a driver allowance?
- Are toll, parking and border taxes extra?
- How much luggage space will my group have?
- Is there a minimum daily distance?
- Can I get a fixed quote for the whole route before I confirm?
We answer all of these when you send us your plan, and we confirm the fare before the trip starts.
Tips for a long group drive
Fix the seating plan before you leave. Grandparents and anyone who gets motion sickness sit in the front rows, and the kids take the back. Stop every two hours for tea and a stretch, and keep water and snacks within reach rather than in the luggage area. If you are visiting temples, share the timings with the driver so he can plan around the aarti.
Planning the day on the road
A group of 15 moves slower than a single car. Build in a proper breakfast stop, a lunch stop and a tea break, and expect each one to take longer than you think. Leave earlier than you would in a sedan and share the day's plan with the driver in advance. Agree on a meeting time and place at every stop, so nobody is left behind at a toll plaza or a temple gate.
If you are visiting temples with fixed aarti times, tell the driver the timings so he can plan the arrival. It also helps to name one person as the point of contact with the driver, so instructions do not arrive from five voices at once.

Where big groups go from Ahmedabad
- Somnath and Dwarka is a three day pilgrimage loop of about 1,030 km.
- Udaipur is 260 km, about five hours.
- Mount Abu is 225 km, about 4.5 hours.

Staying in the city?
On Bestu Varas, 9 November, Gujarati families go around the city to greet relatives. Going house to house in four separate cars means four parking problems. One vehicle with one driver takes the whole group through the day. Take a look at our local cab service and tell us your plan.
How to book
Send us the number of people, your dates, the places you want to visit and how much luggage you have. We recommend a vehicle and confirm the fare before the trip starts. For Diwali week, ask early. Group vehicles are the first to be taken.
